Memorials

A memorial service or commemoration is one given for a deceased person when the body is not present. This service may take place sometime after a cremation or burial has been conducted, or if the body of the deceased has been donated to an academic or research institution or during the scattering of the deceased ashes after cremation.

This service may also include speeches (eulogies), prayers, poems or songs to commemorate the deceased’s life.
